BTW, NONE of these bloggers writes their own material. A good friend of mine (a SAHM) works on the side as a ghost writer for a few notable bloggers. I't all a scam when you hit the big leagues.

Does anyone know if Smitten Kitchen is a fraud? I love her blog. I'd be really bummed if she's not legit.

I do love her recipe for Pots de creme, but she probably ripped off someone…I'm sure. Her recipe is FANTASTIC, but if you do not like a lot of sugar, I suggest NOT using regular chocolate chips and find something with a higher coco content.

However, I do realize she is a fraud.

I think I only made one (the sesame, Asian inspired slaw? I forget the name, it was several years ago), but it was ghastly. She really doesn't know anything about cooking as someone pointed out (on Pioneer Woman Sux?) that in a post about canning she used the wrong end of the tongs, which isn't horrible, but you could drop a jar of something into boiling water. That and she made some other major canning boo-boo like changing the recipe in a way that affected the pH (NO!) or not processing it long enough.

Ina may be a snob (I don't have cable and I've never watched), but her recipes have always worked out very well for me.

Wow. I am one of the gullible ones who thought she was legit. Oh well. All I know about the pioneer woman is that the two recipes of Hera that I've made -- lasagna and a creamy chicken soup -- we're both completely inedible. And my standards aren't that high.

I've used her recipes from time to time. Definitely not healthy but generally they are reliable and well received by people enjoy a delicious treat!

Her bacon wrapped jalapenos are especially a big hit with my family and friends.\

I don't have cable but when I've caught her show I was surprised by how boring she is on TV. She seems to have a much more vibrant personality on her blog.

I like Pioneer Woman's recipes in general, but they tend to be basic staples… I'm not at all surprised if she raided them from church cookbooks across America. And I find her writing style on her blog to be absolutely grating. I have never seen her show so I can't comment on that. But yeah, where in the world does she find the time to do all the stuff she claims to do every day? The blogging, the photography, the homeschooling, the cattle ranching? And then she STILL has time to do cutesy little movie quizzes and stuff? GTFO.

Ina's recipes are always awesome. I have never gone wrong with any of them. I think her show is pretty eye roll-worthy though. It's all, "Oh, we live in the Hamptons, let's invite some of our fabulous wealthy friends over for lunch, let's make sure we use the GOOD olive oil, oh and here's my ADORABLE husband Jeffrey." Well, la-dee-da. But I just thought of her as another affected rich lady, until the Make-A-Wish fiasco, when I kind of lost respect for her.

Ha, she does cook up some unappetizing food. I have never seen her make anything I would consider making. Another one is Trisha Yearwood. Some of her recipes seem like they came off the back of a bisquick box or a can of soup.

I didn't even know the Pioneer Woman started off as a blog, but I have been mildly intrigued by her show. One thing that has always thrown me off, is if they are at the ranch and feeding all those people, why is she always running out to the store? Wouldn't it be a long drive? Can't she keep stuff at The Lodge?
