Kid is in HGC - 4th grade - so quality of instruction is 8/10. Math curriculum is 7/10. I supplement and teach Math to my child too, but it would be easier if I was not trying to handle his education from all angles.

How do you evaluate your kids school? My kid is in 7th and very independent. I've never been in a class with him. He does his homework independently. He gets As without too much work, but maybe that's ok. I've briefly met his teachers at back to school night but I can't evaluate their teaching based on that. What are you basing your opinion on? (BCC cluster).

MCPS elementary in yuppie area (uniform 2.0 curriculum across the county in elementary schools, so why bother distinguishing schools?)

4th grader - 3
1st grader - 5

Wish I could afford private school.
