2nd, or any other company like it.

That's right close down Sodastrem, let those Palestenians find employment somewhere else!

HAHA +1!

"any other company like it" - like who? Any human rights violators? you only buy Union-made (made in America) clothing? Only local produce from farmers you know don't hire migrant labor and provide a good wage for? You don't shop at walmart or target? You make all of your cleaning supplies (since large companies are huge poluters)? You don't put gas in a car (oil overwhelmingly coming from countries with awful human rights records)? Don't drink any vodka?

I know some super nutty leftists (I'm leftist, so...) and even they don't have the energy/time to do the research on all that they consume, so choose to focus on their own backyard.

You pay taxes? Where do you think your taxes go?

Ridiculous. It's just because you don't like Israel (which for many translates into Jews...not all, but many). It's so stupid.

This article displays both sides pretty well:

Hmmm, you haven't really disputed the facts or made a good case for buying Sodastream over another manufacturer. What does it have to do with cleaning supplies or oil or vodka? I don't have time research to these things so I shouldn't do anything at all?

I recommend getting a fizzy water maker, they are awesome. Cuisinart makes a great one that is a good alternative to the Sodastream and solves the problem of where it is made.

We love and use ours daily. I also have one for the office. Cuts dramatically on glass/plastic. We exclusively use it for club soda though, and you can control the level of carbonation yourself - I myself like it burningly fizzy so that's how I make it. Also, if you wanted to try the concentrates, there are many options, natural and less so, and again you can control how much you put in to vary the level of sweetness.

When I've tried Sodastream at friends' houses, the drink was never very fizzy. I like it burningly fizzy.

If you're thinking of buying a Sodastream, you might want to take a look at this website first. It deals with the issues around the Sodastream plant and the impact it has on the Palestinians who live in the West Bank. It's not such a pretty picture.

I'm going to get one these this weekend. Does anyone have the Crystal (glass containers)? Is it worth the extra money?
And how loud are these things?

Thanks!

This is OP. Today I bought 4 more bottles of Perrier, so I think I'm going to bite the bullet and get this thing. I just need to figure out where in God's name to keep it (limited storage means the counter holds the Keurig, slow cooker, Vitamix and toaster, as well as odds/ends). Many thanks to you all!

I bought mine about 10 years ago when it was still Soda Club (I think they were bought out by Soda Stream). I use it at least three times a day to make sparkling water. I like more carbonation than San P. or Perrier and I can control how much carbonation I put in.

I buy the cartridges at Strosniders in Bethesdsa - I trade them in two at a time, probably every six months or so.

I love it - this is one appliance I keep out on my counter and actually use every day!

No, it is more carbonated and it tastes like whatever water you put in the bottle. I suppose you could put still mineral water in the bottle.

It's fizzier than San P, but not as mineral-y as Perrier.
