It seems that many DCUM posters like "creative" names. Personally, I prefer traditional ones, so yes--I love Margaret, just as I also love Katharine and Elizabeth! If you prefer to call her Maggie, I think it's a very cute nickname but think calling her Margaret is great, too!
You've got to be kidding, right? DCUM is about as conservative as it gets when it comes to naming tastes. Most posters think "creative" names are tantamount to child abuse.
Yes, DCUM thinks that creative names are "ethnic", "white trash", and "stripper" (only for girls' names; there's no real equivalent for boys). But at the same time, DCUM thinks that uncreative names are boring and overdone.
Therefore, people expecting babies can either spend a lot of time and effort trying to find a classic, English-language name that nobody else uses, and please DCUM -- or they can pick out a name they like, and please themselves.
