MSG has no negative health effects, unless you are one of the vanishingly small number of people who have an actual allergy.

I think pretty much the #1 criteria in making good broth is how much msg you can get into it. . .

This may have already been said, but smitten kitchen just did a chicken pho a couple of weeks ago. I did some short cuts (cooked chicken breasts separately, crockpotted the broth). Turned out great!

I can name a place upcountry and down count and mid county. I would say they are about the same. Where r u?


Close to Bethesda, but can easily get to Wheaton, Rockville...

There is a Pho 75 in Rockville. Pho 75 has been among the best pho in DC since before there was pho in DC, and it has more-or-less stood the test of time (but it no longer costs 4.75 for a large bowl, which I believe was the inspiration for the name).
