1. They should build some high-end low-rise condos on the land across from G'town Prep.
2. Everything low-rise--nothing over 6 stories. GET A WHOLE FOODS IN THE COMPLEX.
3. Put in an independent films oriented movie theater. Hello, Loews family--are you listening?
4. GET A FIVE GUYS IN THERE.
5. Create little side streets off the Pike next to White Flint and PUT AN APPLE STORE IN THERE.
6. Also high end children's toy's store--no plastic allowed ONLY WOODEN NEUTRAL GENDERED TOYS.
7. Sushi on conveyer belts should be everywhere as there are plenty of asians around there who would set a high bar for asian fare. GET A HUGE AWESOME DIM SUM RESTAURANT IN THERE.
Who's with me?

This is false. There has been much about the renewal of White Flint in the news - this and Pike and Rose are being patterned on the new urbanist design aesthetic. Not another strip mall - in fact, trying to be the anti-strip mall and get away from the car culture that defines Rockville Pike and VA.
The biggest bitch will be probably having to pay to park at the new White Flint. I avoid places where I have to pay to park!

You act like there aren't thousands of people who live right around there. Not everyone will be coming in on the Metro. Rockville is a car culture. It will do just fine.Anonymous wrote:The white flint metro is half to 1 mile away from the mall (depending on where you are going). Not bad by surburban public transit standards, but how many people are going to do that? With all the shopping and restaurants close to one of the nearby metro stations, the new mall will need to be pretty special to bother.

Oh no, not another ubiquitous Banana Republic store!Anonymous wrote:Sad. I used to love hanging out at White Flint when I was little. Hope whatever replaces it has some appeal.

Brick and Mortar bookstores are a dying breed.
