There are good providers out there as well as the bad ones. It's the same with daycare centers. Some are good centers and some are not.

As far as the posters who are giving parents a hard time over sending their infants to daycare, climb down from your soapbox. Sometimes working is a necessity for both parents and parents shouldn't feel like bad people for using child care. Even if both parents don't have to work, there is nothing wrong with both parents working and sending their children to daycare! It's perfectly fine for both parents to work regardless of necessity and it's perfectly fine to send infants to daycare. Nobody should be shamed for their choice to work or not work!

I was reading all and each of your comment , some of then are really sad! I'm also a Provider BUt by the same time also a mother, I treat children as if they were my own children . So Just want to say We all are different, and Please! Parent Don't forget Always ask a references from your provider before you decided and pick up a good and nice provider for your child. Thanks!

Yes, but what you are failing to understand is that daycare and home care are different. Fair or not, daycare canters are held to a different standard.

Oh I love threads like these. I have a 5 month old and a 5 year old. I was very lucky with my 5 year old because I didn't have to have any care for her until she was two. And even then I only had to do part-time care. But with my infant we were in a position where we had to put her in childcare at 12 weeks. We can't afford a nanny and I can't stay home. I'm not going to lie but I was heartbroken that I had to do daycare. I'm self-employed so I'm lucky in that I can modify my schedule. So my infant is in care part-time. But for the first few weeks I bawled my eyes out every time I left. I just didn't feel it was good enough. Fast forward four months and I can't believe I'm saying this but I really love it. Yes, I'm sure there are bad places where babies are housed. And I'm sure there are places where care givers know at what time to interact with a baby. But at the small center where we are I can actually see into the infant room before ANY teacher in ANY room can see me. It's hard to describe but I can see through windows of the front offices. The daycare does not have walls so I can see straight back to the infant room (in the back). At no time do I ever see a teacher run back to warn my DD's caregiver and I'm fairly certain they don't have cameras in the parking lot. Nor is my child the one being held whenever I walk in. There are three infants and one caregiver along with a floater caregiver. But one of the three is always being held. One or two always seems to be sleeping or doing floor time. My DD beams when she sees her caregiver and is smiling when I pick her up. And mind you I pick her up at random times. Not the same time every day. I get her when my work is done whenever that may be I do believe there are bad places. And I know there are horrible nannies (trust me everytime I'm at the playground I see nannies completely ignoring their charges.). But to paint all daycare workers as uncaring and unloving and who are just there to punch the clock seems really unfair.

A SAHM doesn't have 4 infants, are you joking about the interaction?
