I had severe pre-e and I was still able to deliver vaginally. My baby was in the NICU for 2 weeks, but it was never critical, she just needed a little help breathing and subsequently help with eating. You would never know she was 5 weeks early now! I didn't get the steroid shots. Labor took 12 hours, magnesium during labor can slow it down a bit.

Had a csection at 35 weeks due to pre-e. Baby was perfectly fine and did not need to go the NICU. Wishing you the best!

Hi PP,
It went well. Induction. (It was my third induction, so I knew what to expect.)
I went in the night before for cervidil, once I was 3 cm they started pitocin (around 10 ), broke my water around 1, and by 4 I was 10 cm and pushed for about 12 minutes.
She was almost 6.5 lbs and they gave her right to me.
She nursed a bit, had some trouble latching but caught on by day 2. I pumped to make sure she got colostrum and syringe-fed that.
After delivery, I had some very high blood pressure spikes so I got the magnesium for 24 hrs. But she was never separated from me and I continued to nurse, hold her, etc.
All my pre-e labs came back fine so it was just the BP.

I am in a similar situation.....so I am curious, did they try an induction or did they want to go directly to a c/s? If they tried induction, did it take extra long because you were early? Did your baby need to be separated from you for a period of time? These are the things I'm starting to worry about.

OP here - made it to 37 weeks, 2 days and delivered a few days ago! No NICU. Healthy baby girl!
I did have mag after delivery but not too bad.

I know someone who delivered triplets at 35 weeks recently. They were home with her in, I think, four days after birth.

All is going pretty well. I am now 35 weeks, and still pregnant! Yay!
They have controlled by BP with meds and all my labs are fine - no sign of the "mild" pre-e worsening, so I am really hoping for two more weeks. (Maybe even a little more? But I would be happy to get to
37. ) I go in twice a week for tests.
I do think I am getting top notch care at Georgetown. Very grateful for that.
