Can someone please give me a link to their operating status? We don't attend but have a special event tomorrow that is supposed to follow MCPS operating and I cannot find anything on their site! Thanks.

You call that "easy"? Opening up more magnets and special programs, and then dividing them between the "northern county" and the "closer-in county"? So that the people in the "closer-in county" can have a handful fewer snow days per year? Really? "Easy"?

There really should be about a dozen more Spanish immersion programs than there are, but that's a whole 'nother thread. They tried that back in the early 80's before the advent of magnet programs, etc. It failed miserably because parents were too stupid to know where they lived.

Montgomery County Public Schools will open two hours late tomorrow (Jan. 23) due to emergency weather conditions. Bus service will be provided on a two-hour-delayed schedule. Morning prekindergarten, morning half-day Head Start, other morning half-day programs and field trips are canceled. Other activities and programs that begin at 10:30 a.m. or earlier are canceled. The upper county is not "really bad". The main roads are find. Some of the residential streets have a little snow in places.

The county needs to be divided in at least two (Northern and Southern) for purposes of school closures. This is foolish.
