I may have missed this in all of the responses, but I wanted to point out that much of the corn fed meat is fed with genetically modified corn.

and to the PP on page 2 that tried to refute something with a link to The Guardian - really??

Since the "something" PP was refuting was a beef industry press release, I don't think standards are particularly high here.

No one is saying there is a correlation between life expectancy and grass fed beef. Where are you getting that idea?

Grass fed beef cooks so much faster than grain fed beef. Are you turning it into shoe leather without realizing it?

We get Martin's Angus Beef, which is local, at a farmers market. It's grass-fed, grain-finished. Very tasty. I hear totally grass-fed is better for you, though.

Its what beef is meant to taste like. To me, corn fed beef tastes really fatty and nasty. I would agree that you should buy the highest quality beef that you can afford, to ensure that it tastes good.

Try grass-fed, grain finished. Albright Farms, which is local, has this and comes to many farmers markets.

I am really confused by the many PPs talking about the weird taste of grass fed beef. Seriously, it should *not* taste bad, and if it does, then either a) you hate the taste of meat and just didn't know it because you were eating such bad stuff before or b) the beef is bad. I generally think (b) is more likely. Try local farmers markets. I go about once a month and stock up on lots and leave it in a chest freezer in our basement. So much better than grocery store meat, it's ridiculous.

My experiences at Whole Foods and TJ's are very mixed -- supporting my suggestion (b) above.

Good luck OP!
