Like I said, I may be in the wrong, but that's my pet peeve at the gym. That, and not re-racking weights.
I'm more of a free weight kind of girl, but I do use some machines (smith, leg press, etc). I have done this and the reason is because I'm doing a specific set of exercises in a specific order. When it's a bi-tri-back day I do certain exercises back to back and sometimes they require little rest in between. I can only reorder my routine so much or it's not as effective.
Now, not re-racking is irritaing.
