ITA. I never did that well meeting guys at bars because I am not that outgoing and not that great at small talk. With online dating, you've already emailed a bit and have identified some common interests and things to talk about that way. I have had a much higher success rate with people I met online.

I'm an introvert, but can chat it up with strangers or sit quietly. If someone brings up a topic I love to talk about, that's when I get hit on. I'm sure I'm more animated and relaxed when discussing my favorite things.

If you seem receptive and not closed off, guys will approach you. Imagine the body language of someone angry and/or in a rush to get somewhere. They give off a "leave me alone" vibe. If you are giving off the same vibe, no one is going to want to bother you.
