If your kids are still young enough to be put to bed I can't imagine feeling you need a bra to be around them. If they wake up in the middle of the night, put on a bra before you go to them? And why can't they see you in your PJs? I can't imagine not being able to totally relax around my kids. When it's just our family I never wear a bra at home. Most of my shirts are thick enough, or ribbed, so nipples aren't going to be a huge issue.

If I have guests but am lounging at home in sweats or PJs, I wear a soft non-underwire bra that gives some support and coverage but is nowhere near the level of lift and definition I prefer for normal clothes. (I have big boobs.)

I never go braless. For some reason I find it very uncomfortable. Bras that fit are very comfortable o me.

I get the comfort thing about having them supported. When I was younger I went braless everywhere, but I had small breasts. Many years and babies later, they're huge and heavy, so bras help. But even so, a bra is not comfortable. At home I go braless, but tuck/roll the big old girls into an undershirt, so they are held in place. Looks terrible, like Ma Kettle, but is so comfortable.

When I was younger, we showed our nipples, and many of us went braless. Casual nudity was more common in movies--watch some 60s and 70s and even early 80s movies. Even on television you used to see buttocks and people in thong bathing suits, until it all became forbidden. Now nudity and normal parts of bodies like nipples are perversely hidden. And yet people are so jaded about so many sex acts, and women are expected to behave like porn actors.

WTF happened to this freaky country.


It is slightly weird. I always wear a bra because of comfort not because I am embarrassed I have breasts. They are large so it is obvious I have them. So for a lot of women, it is comfort not modesty.

I go braless all the time at home when it's just DH and I, but almost never if anyone else is around. Occasionally I might wear 2 tops and no bra early in the AM if only my parents or sister are staying with us, but it's rare.

Braless 80% of the time. I paid a lot for these cute little things, proud to display them and don't care who squirms.

Nope. There may have been a time when I was not wearing one, so then there would be a huge sweatshirt over the other shirt (or pajama top). I'm too large to do that where other people can see.

No way. I am a 38G... just enormous. No one needs to see that... not even me. The only places I let them swing loose are in the shower and in bed. They're encased in a massive underwire contraption at all other times.

Absolutely not. I am a 32DD and going braless is not comfortable. If I were really small chested, I could imagine going braless with my sister or SIL - not around their husbands, though.
