Sex was good. She was hot! Then we got married and had kids and she didn't want sex except to have more kids. She no longer showed interest in me. I guess it's the old I have the ring on my finger so I don't have to try attitude and the kids are her insurance policy against my leaving. That us going to happen anyhow. I have an appointment with a lawyer next week. Happy trails!

I am a DH here. All my friends, except for one, are women. I enjoy their company. They are fun. They make me laugh. I make them laugh. We enjoy the same things. My DW is a bore! Worry. My DH left me for this kind of best friend recently.

And I'm actually talking with my BFF from high school (whom I sort of didn't talk to regularly because DH worried) and he's been a great friend in my split/divorced and we might give it a try.

My husband has female friends--a few of whom are his exes. I don't mind. I know they are really friends, not just "friends." Their friendships are longstanding, often from college or high school. He makes sure that I've met them, spent time with them, and am comfortable with them. He might see them one-on-one for coffee or lunch every once in a while, but I'm included in at least as many social events. He's never given me any reason not to trust him. He's not flirty. He doesn't initiate friendships with women now, unless he knows the husband and we're seeing if we could be couple-friends. I know that if I told him that a particular woman gave me a bad vibe and asked him not to spend time one-on-one with her, he'd listen, because I'm not jealous of every woman he knows.

Honestly, if your husband or wife isn't your best friend, then that's a problem.

And it would concern me if my husband was closer with another woman than he was with me.

My experience has been that the guys who have lots of female friends are flirty guys who will never be content with one woman. He may not ever cross the line with physical intimacy, but I'm not sure that that's the only thing that matters.


That is incredibly and romantically idealistic. My DH is my partner and my WORLD....but my "best friend" is the girl I have been friends with since I was 4 YO.
