Very stupid. But it would be helpful to let me know that you are going to be the type of parents I can't stand, the ones who lose themselves in their kids without realizing how idiotic they are acting.

It is a great idea to have a party with your friends and loved ones to celebrate your new child/ impending transition to parenthood. I love that concept.

Just please don't make it about whether your kid has a dick or not.

Might be fun, and I can see the fun in picking a "side" with pins/leis/cups, but I'd definitely skip the games. Too shower like, IMO.

OP, some of these PPs are unnecessarily mean, but I do agree that if you throw it as a gender reveal party or make a big deal out of the real at the party, it comes across as pretty immature and self centered. OTOH, if you are very young and you are having the first baby among your friends, some people will be excited and cut you some slack. You know your audience.

All parties are in some way narcissistic aren't they? Birthday parties, weddings, baby showers, house warmings could all be called selfish life event nonsense that some people think are stupid.
