Aw OP, don't be sad. Last year I put something up about Tristan for my son, and got similar DCUM responses. We named him Tristan anyway, and if he's white trash, he's the cutest white trash on Earth! Name your baby whatever you want--DCUM is not representative of the rest of society.

OP here. I am glad I was able to unit the DCUM board.

Some of the comments were funny- and I laughed. Some of you were nasty- like the fucking stupid and what are you thinking commentator.

I take the good and well intentioned commentary, and will not be naming my baby Tristan. Guess we are down to Sofia and Ava!

If you must name your daughter after a Wagnerian opera character, there are far better names from the Ring Cycle to choose from. How about Grimgerde? Flosshilde? Both women's names. What a shame that most people associate Tristan with strippers and reality TV rather than with Wagner. The decline of civilization.

I like it. I know that's Jason Mraz's girlfriend's name, Tristan Prettyman, who is a model. So I think of that.

A PP mentioned Dylan- I'm so glad you are happy with it. It's my front runner if I have another girl.

1. a boy name
2. a stripper name
