You could put neither OR both serfs of parents - but it can not be one.
Suzy Smith and John Jones, along with their parents, request the honor of your presence......
Why not just like so?
We threw our own formal wedding ourselves, and only put our names on it (no parents). They were p*ssed, but what you gonna do?

OP, be prepared for this level of drama throughout the marriage.
Better to live in Rockville in peace than in Bethesda with "gift" hanging over your heads.

I would either do them the traditional way (bride's parents give her away so they "request the honor of your presence" OR neither parents are mentioned.
Groom's parents will be hosting a rehearsal dinner.
Your parents don' get special brownie points for hosting the breakfast - that it something they are saying they want to do. It's not the wedding.
The gift of financial help from the groom's parents should be private, and acknowledged privately only - or don't take the money. You're rubbing it in your parents' face - the fact that they aren't giving you all the money for "a complete wedding" (your view)
