OP since we both obviously have these kinds of friends and are lucky to, maybe something was up with her or she was tied up and couldn't call? If shes a really good friend and it really bothers you, speak to her about it. Especially if its out of character. Happy Birthday!

Oh I'd be happy to tell you what kind of friend I am. I'm the kind who doesn't make a fuss about my birthday and doesn't expect anyone else to either. I don't tell people when it is and I don't get bent out of sorts when friends don't acknowledge it. They call and talk to me other times for fun, not because they feel obligated to.
Do you all make a big fuss about Valentine's Day too?
