Pizza boxes are not recyclable. So, if she was mad because they put trash in the recycle bins -- I get it. But she should talk to the neighbors and explain it to them. And, if the neighbors bins were full and they added a little to yours -- who cares? It's county trash pick up, right? You are paying by the pound?

OP, I think I know who you are - you have posted here before about your difficult wife.

If you have decided to stay for the same of your daughter, then you need to do 2 things: accept your wife is unbalanced; and detach from her emotionally. Remember that your priority is keeping your daughter safe.

So what you need to do is go over to your neighbors and apologize profusely when you get home. Don't tell your wife what you are doing. Maybe your neighbors are nice people who can help you keep an eye on your wife.

If you read my post, it ways that there is a history. I find it ironic that you are sarcastic in your response that I would find what the neighbor did annoying, yet you are clearly annoyed by an innocent expression of opinion on a bulletin board. Makes ya think, huh?

BTW - We recycle EVERYTHING that MoCo allows. That means come trash day, our recyclable bins are full. I use clear plastic bags to put in my recyclables in them and I keep it next to the recyclable bins. I keep these bins on one side of the driveway and the trash bins on the other side, so that there is no confusion about the status of the recyclables in the trash bags. They always get picked up.

Wife is a piece of work. I am so sorry for you. Shudder to think of her thought processes.

Sounds very territorial. My dog is like this. Also, sounds very aggressive, not passive aggressive. Wife will have to deal with the outcome with the neigbors, since you are out of town. I wouldn't get in the middle of it. She made the choice to do that, now let her make the choice how to deal with the consequences.

No, not me. I just know that some folks would not appreciate the appearance of having a habit that they do not have, kwim? But if this was a once a week, right before trash pick up thing with the OP's neighbors...so what. An every week thing might be a different story. Why aren't they throwing out their alcohol bottles/pizza boxes in their own bins?

I can see how having a week's worth of beer bottles and pizza boxes sitting in front of your house might be a tad embarrassing for your wife. Especially if she's a health nut and avoids that stuff like the plague.

It's not just trash, it's humiliating trash, lol. And she doesn't want to be associated with that.. that sort of thing can lead to a reputation you know.
