We are using the vintage-style, large colored bulbs this year.

Eat it, hoes!

Not having enough lights so that the string ends in a random place on a tree. Using different kinds of lights in close proximity to each other (so a set of big bulb lights in one color scheme next to mini lights in another color scheme, or worse, stringing them all together).

Ohhhh....I am guilty of all of that. Too many random buys of lights and never remember what we have/need. But do not worry, I just got a new inflatable that should tie it altogether.

LOL!

Everything in the world is trashy. At least according to DCUM. So do whatever floats your boat and don't bother paying attention to the bitter grinches here.

Can we hang out and be bffs? I'll bring the box wine.

+1. And I'll bring the inflatable decor for the front yard.

I like warm white, not cool white. But the worst is when people mix them.

Op, did you just make that up about Ala.? Because I have never heard that before. How can not have them, with small children at Xmas? I actually love the color lights, especially the new LEDs. It's so festive.

I loved my grandparents' blue lights! Although they weren't Jewish. Actually I don't know if they ever even knew any Jewish people. Rural Minnesota wasn't full of Jewish people when they were alive.

Go nuts with your colored lights. I just don't like the "chasers" because they make me nauseated if I look too long.

Bob Dylan is chopped liver?

What are "chasers"?

The ones that "chase" round and around. One blinks out briefly, them the next, so they look like they're "chasing." They probably have another name.

Do you think he had some sort of "Meet a Real Live Jewish Person" roadshow? And Hibbing, while not a big town, is not "rural."

Do you think that anything non-white is trashy?

Not if it is Asian.

I have white lights on my tree this year and I don't like them nearly as much as colored lights. I think t he colors give such a nice, festive glow. Definitely going back to them next year.

We us the big C-9 bulbs for our house. We get so many compliments from neighbors because the house looks warm and cheerful. Those l.e.d. lights are so cold and stark. White lights are pretty, but a little boring for us. I think anything can be trashy if it is done in a trashy way. Like if I ran out of C-9 bulbs and I finished up with the minature lights. Or if I lost my Virgin Mary figure and replaced her with a Lucy Van Pelt cutout.
