I just made a lemon meringue pie, sweet potato pie, chocolate cheesecake. My husband made pecan fudge and peanut butter fudge. Hoping to give some away before I go into a sugar coma.

Cherry is my favorite then apple then blueberry than pecan.

Yuck. One year though my sister had extra pecan pie filling and extra sweet potatoe pie filling so she mixed the two and left off the nuts. Now that pie I can get with! it was amazing!

As long as it's not overly sweet and made with corn syrup, I love pecan pie!

I add zest of orange and a bit of spices like cinnamon and cloves to both the cake and the topping. ALso more than recipe calls for. Tweak it to your tastes, it's easy to make.

Agree with the poster that mentioned using fresh pecans. I have not made one since a dear aunt with pecan trees passed on. She would send a bag from her trees and I cannot buy any that taste as good as those fresh ones. Thanks pp for reminding me of special times gone by.

Love pecan pie, but I make it less sweet and grind the nuts to quite small pieces to make the texture more likable by my kids. It is also a very simple one to make. I can post the recipe when I get home tonight.
