+2 the only pizza this ny transplant will eat

They've changed names -- so… is the new version just as good? Anyone tried? Or has it gone downhill with a new owner?

Mama's has not changed names. Are you thinking of some other place?

Hmmm -- the ones in Reston and Potomac have. Perhaps they just sold a couple of stores?

^^^

Well, this explains a lot, but raises a whole new question. Why on earth would you serve different pizza by the slice than what you serve whole?
And it's true--don't ever ever order a slice there.
They do have good cheesesteak hoagies, though.

I heard great things about Vince & Dominic's and tried it out a couple of weeks ago. Horrible. So bready. Maybe the thin crust is better?

Yes, the thin is better. Whatever you do don't go in and order a slice. A disgusting slab of heavy bread and cheese the size of your whole head. Gross! But their thin pies are pretty decent, although too cheesy for my taste.

If you order a slice at Vince and Dominic's it is different than ordering a whole puzza. The slice taste like school pizza and is disgusting. We only order a whole pizza and we ask for it well done..
