OP, you are awfully invested in this given the small number of dates you guys have actually had.

For now, give him the benefit of the doubt. Could be jet lag, or could be that he's catching up on stuff he missed out on here while overseas - there are probably debriefings or transition planning or other things taking away his attention right now. A lot of guys aren't great at multitasking work and relationships, especially if you guys haven't spent much time together. So chill out, keep your options open and see what happens.

Eek, OP - again, we don't see his texts so maybe your guy is correct but it sounds like you are being a bit paranoid, especially as he has told you nothing is wrong. And although you have been texting a while, you've only seen each other twice and never talk on the phone. IMO it's way to soon to be having one of these stressful "what are we doing" conversations. You may be sabotaging it before it begins.
And even if your gut is correct about him, it's way too soon to be reacting in such an intense way. Not that you shouldn't feel disappointed and sad, but you need to take a step back a bit here and get some perspective.

To give you all more information on the situation.. I texted him last night asking him that if he is not gonna be the same guy I met, I don't see the things going anywhere.
When he was over seas.. he expressed excitment to see me again by saying stuff like "Counting down the days to see you".. "I am thinking of you" "Really want to see you".. and as soon as he hit home.. He doesn't start conversation by text.. (he never calls.. never did.. even when we first went out.. it was all texting) ... he just texts me at 6:30 am to say good morning.. how are you.. that is it.. :/ ...

He replied to my text last night by saying.. nothing has changed.. and he doesn't know what else to say to convince me. .. I just really dislike dishonesty.. no biggie dude.. I am not gonna go cut my veins!! lol.. just be honest .. how annoying

I'm 43, PP - fortunately back when we were in our twenties texting as a primary firm of conversation did not exist.
This guy is away for months and when he gets back he texts instead of calls? That seems to be how it's done these days and I truly don't know how anyone gets beyond a casual level. Regardless, it's possible OP jumped the gun. What do you mean by "cut and dry"? We don't have the benefit of seeing the difference between his prior texts and current ones.

Before his texts would say a lot.. he wouldn't just give flat replies... that is what I mean by cut and dry.. he would talk alot..
