You missed the point. The issue is, why would any normal, rational adult resort to constant boosterism on DCUM? Nobody begrudges the Holton girls. They begrudge the parents who keep running to DCUM to plug trivial things like Emmy appearances.
Why are you so bothered by what you see as "boosterism?" You may need professional help to understand that. I'm not kidding.

Nobody ever starts threads on how Doug Gansler and Ann Brashares are Sidwell grads and look, she has another book out and what a great reflection on Sidwell. Or threads on how Brit Hume and Donald Graham are St. Albans grads. Or heck, threads on how Carl Bernstein and Connie Chung are *gasp* Mongtomery Blair graduates, and this speaks so well of our public schools.
Too Funny.
“Donald Graham” – oh where oh where would poor Donnie Graham be without the St. Albans School for Boys? Carl Bernstein peaked about 40 years ago, but Connie Chung achieved the dream of every little girl growing up in MoCo when she married a Landon Man.
For anyone who knows Washington, it is clear that Eugene Meyer is more responsible for the “success” of Donald Graham, Carl Bernstein and the Povich/Chung than any private or public school. Eugene of course had to donate the land for the Madeira School to ensure that his daughter could get a decent education in this area.

I happened about the show mid=way on Saturday and was so surprised they had over 800 points...it was just really someting and I felt sorry for the 2 other teams left in the dust.
I can assure you of one thing...if it had been your kid you would have been proud about such a showing. Do you really need to steal the thunder of teenage girls for getting such an accomplishment...especially given the fact it is really unusual still on It's Academic to have an AA team captain.
Raise the lamp-post banner high!
Lift your voices to the sky!
Holton Arms is on TV,
Holton Is the one for me!
Start a DCUM thread to show
That Holton girls are in the know
Don't worry if the readers yawn
Holton pride must carry on.
Every post must sing the song
That Holton's right and never wrong
No accomplishment's too small
To tout on DCUM every fall.
Lol.
Enjoyed the satirical doggerel.
