I'm 35. Had 2 pair, black and printed black and white. Damn I feel old now, it hard to say I had Docs more than 20 yrs ago! Donated them about 10 years ago.
If you dress stylish, I think you could get away with wearing a plain black pair. I wish I had kept my old ones, pp is right, the sole isn't the same anymore.

They HAD a store in Georgetown, back in the day. It was called Commander Salamander.

Another 39 year old who bought a pair in the UK in the early 90s and wore them daily for years, until I couldn't deny my feet had grown a half size. Donated them but I would buy a pair again if they still made the old sole (don't like the new chunky pattern) and had the standard black leather (don't like the soft/matte or the patent). Thought about getting some oxblood ones, too, maybe I'll go that route this time around.

My cool friend took me to buy my first pair at a store in the village in the late '80s. I am not old enough for them to come BACK into style. (I have a couple pairs, and a flight jacket, and some vintage dresses stashed just in case my daughter has "'90s Day" at school-she's a toddler.)

I have black Docs that I bought in Dublin in 95 when I was 17 years old. I loved them then and still do, but I'm not sure I agree that they're all that comfortable. As others have said they are really heavy. I may wear mine this weekend! I'm a 35 year old mom now, but who cares.
