I am about 225 (size 18) and fly regularly. I hate the middle seat (unless I am with my spouse), but regularly get the aisle and am fine.

I know this is old but just wanted to add that my husband is 300 and doesn't need a seatbelt extender. (He hates flying Southwest - small seats + assy attitude.)
