I am going to try this minus the onion and nuts. Looks good.

We don't eat those things! I would certainly refrigerate my hardboiled eggs shortly after making them and would not consider putting the kids eggs they make in the fridge for later consumption.
You can eat those. It's VERY easy to tell when an egg is bad, as they smell bad.
