I'd say if it's raining, if he's feeling crappy, or if he's carrying a really heavy load, then yes, of course, be considerate and loving and get him.

Otherwise, dude needs to learn to be more self-sufficient. Walk, take a bike, ride the bus, whatever he prefers. (I'd never ask someone to inconvenience themselves for me like that every day, so that's my perspective. That said, my husband offers to come pick me up from the Metro station way more often than I accept the offer. Just can't imagine being picked up like I'm a kid going home from elementary school except under unusual circumstances.)

He should walk. I would only go get him if it was raining. I def would not get him with two cranky, hungry, tired kids.

It depends...If you really love your hubby and are a dedicated wifey then by all means, do it.

OP, I've had the exact issue with my husband. I asked him if it made sense that I should spend more time driving back and forth just to get him than it takes him to ride the bus? And I hate driving. He hadn't considered the time it took me to drive there.

PP here. I was looking at the wrong numbers in your post. So assuming 22.5 minutes from metro to home. He's saving 7.5 minutes and adding 45 minutes of driving time for you. Heck no!!

Christ no. Why is he asking you AND your kid to spend more time in the car than he would spend on the bus?

Ok, I said go get him, but that's before I knew it was 2.5 miles.

He needs to walk.

I think once in a while it's not a huge deal, but who wants to haul kids around at that hour regularly? Honestly, I've taken the bus home in the rain when my husband was home with the kids because really, who wants to inflict that kind of punishment on their spouse?

For real? Pick him up for a 2.5 mile distance?!! That's not love, that's craziness. Let him walk or take the bus.
