I applied to Prek4 this year for my late bday kid at Sela and she was accepted. She had completed PreK3 elsewhere, so I don't know if that matters.

I'm looking for a December-birthday spot (not for this year) and Sela would be great - but their website says, "Students entering pre-kindergarten must be 4 years old by September 30, 2013. Students entering kindergarten must be 5 years old by September 30, 2013. There are no exceptions to these birthday deadlines." Does anybody have personal experience with them granting an exception? If so, are the kids allowed to progress or are they expected to repeat the year? Thanks.
They will take 3 year olds with a December cut for pre-K 4 based on a case by case basis, or at least they have this year. There is no categorical expectation that they will need to repeat a grade, though I would imagine, if the kid did not perform well on the assessments, they would be asked to consider repeating, just like with any other student.

we're at Lamond now for PS3 and we're impressed with the warm teaching environment and classrooms, our child is really engaged and enjoying going to school. if all goes well, we will stay there for PS3 and PK4 before moving to our other child's school.

I hear they had a lot of staff turnover this year (perhaps as a result of cheating scandal). They seemed very disorganized when we toured. Great playground, though.
Many of the veteran teachers are still at the school. There has been turn over at the school for the last couple of years. Some of the Prek3/4 teachers and assistants receive promotions at other charter schools. Other PreK3/4 teachers were promoted within and some vets are still at the school and yeas some teacher left the school for other reasons. PreK3 and 4 are great. Just think twice about staying beyond that. The Lamond campus
@ Lamond. New principal, new main office staff, quite a few new teachers. We're staying put...for now, but will definitely be out by K. We're considering other options, but it's hard with two kids to get them at the same school.
Don't give up. When I moved my kids from Lamond I was able to get both into the same school. One got and which moved the other to the top of the waitlist-sibling preference. A few days later the 2nd child was accepted.
