It isn't that everything is about race. It's that her performance appeared to be making fun of us. There was a minstrel aspect to it that was very disturbing. That's why you see so many articles by black women about this incident. And the other hurtful piece is that we' (black people_ have allowed those images of our selves to perpetuate in other ways by other performers. If you add to the mix the fact that Miley supposedly has been saying that she wants a "black sound" for her music, then it's even more disturbing.
