The 2014 review says:

Conducted an unannounced renewal inspection. Observed 65 children + 12 direct-care staff. Ratios were in compliance and supervision was constant. Staff were actively engaged with the children, to include: sitting and talking with them at lunch, assisting them with tasks, and holding, feeding, and comforting the infants. Children were observed washing hands, eating lunch, having story time, participating in an animated singing story, playing with blocks and puzzles. Classrooms were found to be clean, safeguarded appropriately, and well supplied with age appropriate toys and equipment. Food remains catered and the lunch served included: chicken fajitas, cheese, green beans, apples/apple sauce, milk, and water. Medication management was in compliance. Health and fire inspections completed. Required documents were posted. Overall record keeping was in good order. 3 staff records + 2 children's records were reviewed and no violations found. The previous violations were corrected. Inspection conducted 12:25-1:50pm.

The violation found in this instance related to a piece of playground equipment that the inspector said was too cracked and left exposed plastic edges. Hardly mommy dearest or any such thing!

I'm due this summer and put a deposit at Happy Kids Daycare. My husband and I compared a few home daycares last month and had a hard time deciding. After meeting with Miriam, we pretty much made up our minds on the drive home.

I agree. I went to visit them and they do have nicer house than other in home daycares. But it's still the basement, and they also told me the price was about $2k a month for an infant for 50 hours a week. Yikes, that was a bit too high for me and I passed, especially since the location wasn't that convenient for me either. But Carmen was a wheeler and dealer type, I could sense that even at the first meeting. Seeing the fake postings here for advertising, I'm glad I didn't go with them. If she lies to self promote, it makes me uncomfortable that she might lie about other things as well. It's too bad, because the other lady working there I forget her name was really nice, seemed kind, and she seemed to really care for kids.

Interested in knowing when you visited. When I did, they didn't have any kids enrolled...that was a deal breaker for me...didn't want my kid to be the first. It is a nice house in a nice neighborhood, but the price, as you say, was high.

I'm not saying they're the best place in town, but it does get rave reviews from some families. We know friends who've had their children there from birth to pre-k.
