Ridiculous

You do not sound "too young", OP. Some posters are ridiculous (and yes, some are jealous). I married at 23 and had my first at 25, while in grad school, and some people looked at me as if I was a teen mother!

Your husband is probably not sure he's ready for a baby, and grasping at straws. You need to discuss this baby thing with him, because it will not be good for your marriage to be tied down to a man who did not want a child in the first place.

Also look at your dog's behavior - does something need to change that would reassure your husband? No jumping on people ever, no going on the couch/bed/elevated position, no barking like crazy, no pulling on the leash - because these are all signs of an Alpha dog. An alpha dog is one who thinks it owns its humans, and is therefore more prone to acting aggressively/possessively towards babies. Your dog needs to understand that all humans, including Baby, come first. As long as it knows where it stands in the pecking order (ie, last), it will be reassured and happy.

A little give and take is what's needed here.

OP, you seem immature to have this issue wreaking havoc on your marriage. It's a no brainer. I would place the husband in a new home before re-homing the dog. It's a no-brainer. I brought a dog into my marriage, and had my husband said the dog needed to go before the baby arrived, HE would have been the one to go. My dog licked the hell out of our baby and they were good friends up until my dog died.

We had two big German shepherds renting a townhouse when we had our first baby. Love, love, love them all. The dogs were gentle as could be around the baby except for the danger of a waggy tail.

Baby > Dog.

However, there is no reason to get rid of the dog just because you are TTC. Unless the dog is really vicious, you can have a baby and a dog at the same time.

You'll want to hide from the crazy from time to time, when Baby Yorkie pees on the floor just as Junior pulls the table cloth off the table. But it works out!

OP, I assume you are just having fun and riling up people on this thread. You were one of the first ones on this thread to go negative, so you can't really be mad at other people. If you aren't just having a bit of fun, don't get rid of the dog, but get rid of the immature attitude towards everything and everyone before you get pregnant.

Hindsight 20/20, see if its not too late to ditch the husband, at least the dog gives unconditional love. Once you have the kid and your loving husband whines louder than the kid the dog will just suffer, and why?

I was infertile by the time I was 27. The age at which people have trouble conceiving can be very early. I have a baby now at 30 using donor eggs. Maybe you have already waited too long to TTC. You should be careful before you lob that bomb at others.
