OP sounds like a disgruntled employee...plus, are you talking about the other location? The one we toured in Old Town said they don’t have more than 12 in a classroom...

Madison day school has its share of problems, but noise in the infant rooms is not one of them. Caring and competent teachers keep the infants calm and happy.

Agree that dealing with management is frustrating.

Yes- food is provided. I'm actually envious of their lunch menu... it's certainly more interesting than mine!

The bilingual program so far seems to consist of a spanish teacher coming in once a week. Most of the teachers are bilingual - I just ask our head teacher to speak to our child in Spanish as much as she can, and I've seen my child respond to directions in spanish, so she definitely understands.

Our son has been at Madison Day School for the past year and we can't say enough great things about this daycare. He started in the infant room and is currently in the "todfant" room. Every morning when we drop him off he is so happy and excited. We really like the daily structure, which includes, singing songs in circle time, arts and crafts, and outdoor time on their brand new playgrounds. Azmay and Rayan, the owners, are always visible and accessible. They truly care about each child and are always available to answer any questions and address any of our concerns. As first time parents, this was very important because everything was new to us and we had a lot of questions. The caretakers show a genuine love for all the infants and toddlers in their room. Every teacher has been very sweet to our son and we love the individual attention they provide. Over the course of his time there, he has shown a great deal of accelerated development.

The best thing we can say about Madison Day School is that when we drop off our 14 month old son, who is our whole world, we are confident he is safe, well taken care of and in a very loving environment. That feeling of safety and peace of mind is priceless.

We have one in the infant room and I'll agree that it is very developmental/education focused. For us, it's good. They are very sweet with the babies! A previous poster mentioned Spanish. I wish they'd formalize this a little. From what I can see, they mainly speak English to the older babies. I would love it if they did half and half or something. And maybe they do, we are still just starting out.

Immediate PP here, hit "post" too soon. I also wanted to say that the owners' involvement is quite extensive and they are very engaged, which is fantastic. The kids also do a ton of arts and crafts, and get plenty of outside time when the weather is good. I think with any place you take the good with the not-so-good (and they are all going to have things that not everyone loves). It's a matter of finding the combination of those things that you can live with.

We have a child at Madison, and we generally like it. We have run into some issues in communication with the head teacher, as well as some concern around expectations that are way ahead of developmental milestones (like, expecting kids to know things a full year ahead of the milestone according to our pediatrician). The focus is quite academic, even for the little little ones.

The teachers are generally sweet and good with the kids, the kids are well-fed, safe and well-supervised, diapers changed on time, etc. I can't say I love it, but we came from a place that was very play-based and encouraged individuality and creativity. We miss that aspect, as does my son.
