Nope.

Wearing a bathing suit to a work event is a no win situation for women.

If you look bad, you feel self conscious and it could unfairly hurt your career.

If you look hot, your male coworkers might talk about you or at the very least be envisioning you in a swimsuit the next time they see you at a meeting.

I wouldn't. Work and Pool Party do not go together, unless you work as a lifeguard.

If it was a family thing and my kids were still non-swimmers, i would wear my one piece suit in the suit and a cover up the rest of the time. If my kids can swim, i would stick to a sundress. I would be okay with this but it would not be my idea of fun.

I would be way more disturbed to see my coworkers in their swimsuits. Many middle age men and women can seem to swing casual friday wear, i really dont want to see how they would dress for this. And i really dont want to see them in basically their underwear.

No. I am fine with my body but do not want to be around my supervisors/colleagues half naked.

When work becomes so social that vacations are part of the program, I'd be out of there.

The thing is, if you have the body for it... yeah! It is not something that you want the rest of your coworkers thinking about (... and they DO) And if you don't have the rockin' body, they do not need to be thinking about that either. So no swim suit for me.

The advice I used to give to junior associated about what to wear for firm social events is to not wear something people will still be taking about in Monday. I would only go in the pool to a company my child and then I would wear a one piece so boring it would not be memorable.

A partner suggested a pool party at my firm ages ago and it started a shit storm of female associates complaining to management that it was inappropriate to put female associate in the position of having to decide whether they would be viewed poorly for not being relaxed enough to wear a swim suit or wearing a swim suit and having older male partners view them in a way that was less than professional.

Long, long ago (14 years) I was a summer associate and one of the events was a pool party. I was not at all comfortable wearing a suit around co-workers so I didn't. I wasn't the only one but others did wear suits, so i wasnt sure if i was perceived as not a team player. I did not like seeing partners in their suits! I was surprised that they held this event.
