Nevertheless CM and other charters certainly have more FARM kids than any WoP DCPS elementaries and certainly more than Bethesda/CC elementary schools.

There are NOT a lot of poor kids at Creative Minds. The school seems to have drawn from middle and upper middle class families. Similar to Inspired Teaching and Mundo Verde.

Charter school students have to take all the same tests like other public school students.

Unfair to compare public schools in a wealthy area like McLean/Betheada to an urban Charter school serving DC kids from all economic backgrounds.

Do kids at the Charters have to take all the standardized tests or are they exempt like the Private/Independent schools?

The charters are relatively new. Most have been in existence for less than 5 yrs with CM only a year old so it's probably not fair to compare it to Bethesda elementary which has adult alumni.

Yu Ying has 18:2 and for inclusive classrooms with several kids with IEP/504 the ratio is 17/18:3 with 2 teachers and a Mandarin speaking sp Ed teacher in the Chinese classroom and an reading specialist in the English classroom. This is the target ratio for all grades although the higher classes are smaller due to attrition.

The charters overall seem to have smaller classrooms than DCPS or even MoCo and Fairfax public schools.

15 kids all the way through 5th is pretty unusual for public school in the area.
