The Ivies have become culturally sterile and I doubt many associated with the schools care at all. This isn't anything new, it was the big state schools of the West and Midwest (e.g., Cal, UW Madison) that led the way in cultural change as far back as the 60's. What was the last cultural trend that began in the East Coast of the U.S.?
