If you are a small business(under 50 employees) you will be required to get your insurance from the DC exchange. The business will not have a choice even if they offer a better plan, they will have to join the exchange. After reviewing our current plan with what will be offered by the exchange, it looks like a 50-60 percent increase, less will be covered, and many employees will have to change doctors. This is really going to cause problems.
Yes, but most of the insurance companies that you currently work with will be members of the exchange. It's not like a single payer plan and the Exchange only has one choice. The exchange is just a website folks. I heard the head of the DC Exchange discuss the topic a few weeks ago. Stop being alarmist.
What you have said is not true. My insurance company is not one of the four companies that will be in the exchange. They have sent notice saying they will not be able to offer insurance in DC. The plans offered are more expensive and offer less, in addition some employees will have to change doctors. I am glad you have heard from the newly minded and salaried dc exchange folks, but in the real world people are pissed. Small business under 50 employ a lot of people and include non profits and trade groups. My lease is up mid 2014, I will go month to month until this is resolved. The business groups are already running to congress and it is a huge issue at the business round table and other groups. I live DC and the little interact I have with the is alway negative. They don't give a rats ass about small business and the people who work there.
Bye-bye. We don't need you here. Our population will increase without you. Move to VA where they passed a tax on hybrid vehicles. Boy, that's forward thinking.
Oh please, don't use that tired expression. Our forefathers wouldn't stand for most things we do today. They'd be upset that women, non-land-owning white men, and blacks have the right to vote. If you want to criticize obamacare go right ahead and deal with the specifics, but that is an absurd comparison.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:we know that onservatives enjoy the misery of others. No, they like seeing the asinine solutions rammed through by liberals fall flat. Pass the popcorn.
Why do you hate America and all that it stands for?
Because this is not the America that we recognize. Our forefathers would not sand for this

As for the hybrid tax, roads are paid for by fuel taxes. Hybrid use less gas per mile. You have to paid for what you use.....no free lunch unless you are the DC Council and yourself. I have a catastrophic policy for my family that I pay for. It was 459 per month and was just raised to 695. That is fact. When thousands and thousands with preexisting conditions, kids to age 26, etc. are deemed "must cover", then the cost has to be allocated to the other policy holders. It is no longer insurance, but rather "cost sharing". The increases are not limited to personal policies, but all of those provided by business to their employees. This will diminish jobs and lessen wages to the whole. Saying healthcare is becoming unfordable to many like myself is not make me a liar or one who takes pleasure on others misfortune, it is simply the unintended (but predictable) consequence of this bill. The exact outcome that was predicted by Republicans but clearly refuted by Obama who said it would lower costs. Time will tell, this is just the beginning of the process of finding out what is in the bill now that the bill was first passed.
I agree. And, because my spouse worked way, way beyond 65 to ensure a comfortable retirement, our Medicare and cost share is going up, too.

I think you are a liar. I don't think this is making your healthcare unaffordable. Nobody loves when their healthcare is unaffordable.
So, you are a liar who takes pleasure in the misfortune of others. In other words, you are a real winner.
