It is a phase, OP. Don’t let her sleep in your bed!! Let her be tired and just deal with it. She has to sleep - standing, sitting or on her head - regardless or you are asking for a world of hurt for years to come. Again, do not let her sleep in your bed!!

Hi - I know this was 5 years ago, but I am having the EXACT same issue. I was curious how long it lasted or what you were able to do? Any help or suggestions?

^^one more thing, make sure your child has a comfort stuffed animal. I started bringing "bear" to bed with us and talking about how DD was putting bear to bed, bear needed a story and a hug, etc, and that really helped.

Time to move her to a bed.

We moved our baby to a bed at 18months - some kids just don't sleep well in cribs. I can't imagine having my 2 year old in a crib. We skipped the toddler bed and gave her a queen size bed, and this was the best decision ever! At bedtime we read a story in her bed, cuddle and then she falls asleep. It's a much happier and comfortable process for everyone.

Same here...! He can be in the same position for hours! I try to lay him down but he wakes up when I am moving him and immediately stands up again. He is 19 months and today I called the pediatrician and she said if he do don't show any sign of illness, to not pick him up.. I don't know what else to do..he is not sleeping enough and duringthe day is very cranky and looks very tired with dark circles under his eyes like a little racoon.. help! A week already of insanity for everybody

Please do some reading on Attachment Parenting. You do not have to leave your child alone in a crib for some prescribed number of hours when you can see that he or she is visibly anxious and awaiting your return. All of your instincts tell you to go and rescue your baby, and that's what you should do! It's not wrong and it does not spoil a small child for a parent to respond to his or her needs and feelings. Many of our ideas about teaching children to be alone and independent starting from infancy are simply outdated. It is okay to listen to your feelings and show love and care for your tiny child, who needs to know you are there and that you will keep him/her safe.
