Yes it sounds elegant but it probably sounds dumb with an ethnic last name.

Might be ok since it's after her grandfather. I have a masculine sounding middle name (Jo) and I hate it. I never tell my middle name unless I have to and always wished it were something prettier.

No redneck would ever name her child Lillian James. Try Mikaylah or Myckynsey or something along those lines. Cheap, unnecessarily difficult to misspell and "cutesy" sounding. That's what a redneck likes.

My little sister had a last name as middle that was very masculine, and she always felt shorted in the name department. The other three girls have girl middle names, and she wished hers was prettier. Not necessarily a thing against it because she might not care, but a thought.
