Anonymous wrote:I have towels that are 25 years old. They were overly expensive at the time, and I bought them by mistake, but they are still fine, if very old. Our newer towels are Charisma from BBB and they are 7-10 years old. Cheap towels will die quickly. Walmart and Target towels die the fastest (we use those for the animals) We have a lot of towels and wash them together every 10 days. Hang them up to dry when wet. And if they get sour use some Mr Clean to get the smell out. The quality is in the towel, not how you wash them.

For the life of me, I can't figure out what the problem is but I'm sure it has nothing to do with the brand of the towel. Does anyone else have this problem?
Does anyone in your household use acne medicine with benzoyl peroxide?

Benzoyl peroxide in face creams/washes. Always wash hands with soap after applying and dry on a cheap white hand towel. Also - don't wear it to bed unless you have only white sheets, duvet/quilt
my towels and sheets always get these "bleach" stains too - this makes so much sense that it comes from our soaps - thank you for this! but now, does anyone know how to prevent this (besides changing the types of soap we use)? Washing hands would work but not when I use the towel to dry my face. it seems that many people do NOT have this problem, so are you just not using dark colored towels after washing your face/hands?
Switch brands of soap to something without benzoyl peroxide.
Or yes, get lighter colored towels.
