Doesn't work that way. It's unfortunate that so many people are still operating off of erroneous myths when it comes to credit scores and reporting. They report accurate information. It hurts like hell when a derog hits, but if it's your fault there's only a few avenues of recourse and none are guaranteed.
It worked for me. I filed a dispute with the credit agency, which went back to the credit card company, which agreed to drop the "derog." This was about three months ago.
Granted, it was clearly the credit card company's fault (and pretty egregious at that), but their customer service department had not authority to change the outcome. The call center people just apologized that they couldn't do anything more and gave me no recourse within the actual bank. I think someone with actual decision making power got to take a look at the record, and it got a different result.

Anonymous wrote:That just sounds really weird. I had AMEX for years and I've loved their policies. they have taken erroneous charges off my bill With very few questions. Every time I called AMEX i get the best customer service. So something just sounds kind of fishy to me.

Please don't waste the time of some poor soul at the BBB -- you don't have a problem with Amex that needs resolution, you have a problem not being able to grow up and accept responsibility for your mistakes.
Are you one of those people who had their mommy call their professors because they got a bad grade, are you a special snowflake?
Too bad. I'm using BBB to see if Am Ex will remove the delinquency from my record. You guys really have a lot of pent up energy.
Well, go ahead and take it out on lil' ol' me. Happy to provide an outlet for your pent up rage.
I used to be a BBB arbitrator. I don't have any pent up rage but if your case came to me you'd be bounced out on your entitled keister in about 2 seconds with a request to not waste the BBB's time when there are plenty of people with genuine, substantive complaints to pursue.
