OP here. This has been an interesting thread. Those of you with first hand knowledge of the KH side next to Wheaton. Can you comment on the feel of the neighborhood? Community sense? Kids? And general safety? We saw. House we like but would like to know more. Thanks

Having been back in the KH neighborhood, it certainly doesn't feel like Wheaton. And the mailing address is generally Kensington rather that Silver Spring. But whatever. I'm guessing that since the PP with their panties in a twist was relying on Google street view that they've never actually been there....

It's a matter of semantics among other things. If the poster in KH tells someone s/he lives in Wheaton it will confuse the other person in the conversation. Why? Because nobody calls it that. They call it KH. Who the hell cares? I'm not sure Wheaton residents go to the same schools (Einstein, etc.). And so what if they did. I have never heard that area called Wheaton.

NP here. OP pretty much asked whether KH was "basically Wheaton," which of course it is (not there's anything wrong with that). Either one KH resident posting several times or several KH residents were all, "OMG! It's not Wheaton!!!!" and then get upset when someone points out the obvious-- that it's basically Wheaton, zip code or no.

Oooookay. The area of Potomac along Falls Road near Rockville is still Potomac. The area of Bethesda along River Road near the District is still Bethesda. I live a block away from Chevy Chase in Kensington. Does that mean I live in Chevy Chase - no! Same thing for Kensington Heights. The difference is the zip code- 20895 for Kensington Heights, 20902 for the Wheaton Mall.

You certainly do have your panties in a twist about this. We're more relaxed about these things in Kensington Heights (as I'm sure they are in Wheaton, too).

The addresses for the actual houses in question are Kensington, 20895.
