OP you handled it well. Your husband is overreacting. It sounds like it was more than one brother who wanted brunch. Your husband is viewing the situation as your brother not wanting to do want the group was doing, but it seems like your nuclear family actually opted out (correctly) from doing what the group wanted to do.

I have to ask, if all your brother wanted was a muffin and an expresso, has he heard of Starbucks? Run in, run out.

I see both sides of this.i think ultimately the world doesn't revolve kids and their schedules. I can get grumpy if I am made to follow someone elses routine too many days in a row. I think your bro did the right think to ,eet his needs and you did the right thing to ,eet your kids needs.

Op here again - I agree my brother was being a pita. But, at least I could call him later and say "are you ok now? Did you get your espresso and bran muffin? Is all right with the world?" And he laughed.
