I would absolutely love to have the ability to work from home and couldn't see myself giving that up easily.

It seems that the new job isn't even a lateral move - it would be a step back because you'd be getting fewer benefits (re: schefule, flex) for the same pay and same job description. Future growth is not guaranteed even if promised. Look for a new job that is a step or few beyond what you're doing now - more senior, more pay.

one thing posters haven't mentions -- imo it gets harder to concentrate when you WFH when they get older (they want your attention and want to talk so much more, etc), but logistically it gets hard to WOH when they get older. daycare was a breeze compared to school! once they're all in school, the flexibility is even more valuable.

my hours go til 6 pm and it is much tougher than leaving at 5 and certainly much worse than working from home. I would not take a job with that schedule if you have young kids.

I work from home and no I wouldn't give it up. Never. Not until they fire me and kick me off the server. No commute, no waking up super early, no under eye circles, no office politics, no messes or chores to come home to after a long day, no fast food for lunch OR dinner, etc...you name it > extra couple hundred bucks a month.

The grass is always greener on the other side OP! You will regret it in my opinion.

Agreed. I switched from WFH for WOH (with one WFH day) for a 200% pay increase. That was worthwhile. Now that my kids are older, I'm negotiating for a position with flexibility although no full WFH day. I've already negotiated a 40% increase from current salary... aiming for 50%.

OP, do NOT undervalue your WFH situation.
