I can hold it for hours. Probably days if I needed to (accidentally went camping or something). Never at work. A few times when my stomach's hurt though, I have ducked into a hotel on my lunch hour and used their restrooms on the main floor. At least then I won't be washing my hands next to anyone I know.

So crazy...yes. I am a female her and my shit isn't scheduled. so when it happens it happens. I can't hold it either. My boyfriend can do that. Some people can just control their shit

If I have to poop I go to the single stall bathroom off the lobby. It's further away from my desk, but no one can hear the plops.

Thank you to everyone who is considerate enough to avoid it when they can. I don't see it as being anal-retentive or having a stick up one's ass. It's just common courtesy to keep shared spaces as nice as possible, and this includes not stinking them up (when possible, and I know, I know, you have IBS).

I sit near the (only, shared) bathroom in our office, and it's pretty unpleasant to hear what goes on in there. And then to smell it when the door opens.

Oh, and that "air freshener" spray? Smells just about as bad as the poop alone, does not cover/ remove the smell of poop, and so we end up with twice the offensive smells.

You people who won't poop in public are just weird. For those who drive home, I hope you aren't charging your workplace for the time it takes you to drive home and back. That's just unfair getting a longer break than others take because you have some sort of phobia.

I don't like pooping at work, but I do it anyway. When you gotta go, you gotta go.

+2. Doing this would have bothered me as a teenager, or maybe right out of college. But know what? I can honestly say that I doubt I work with any of these "never poop at work" people. The restroom usually smells like a restroom. It's ventilated enough. When you gotta go, you gotta go, and after eating an ill-advised lunch yesterday, I ended up pooping 4 times at work. Shit happens.

I work in a small office and there is only one women's room. It has two stalls. People poop all day. Almost everytime I use the bathroom there are streaks in the toilet bowl. And the bathroom smells more times than not.

I drive home, though it probably only happens 2-3x a year. I'm not a "no shoes" house. I just don't like smelling other people's poop, and don't want anyone to smell mine.
I think it's disgusting to walk into a communal bathroom that smells like poop.

I have IBS with alternating bouts of constipation and diarrhea. When I have to go, I have to go. I am also very gassy. I can clear the entire office with a single sulfur-laden fart.

It's a good thing that I'm a valuable employee and that my windows open

I worked for 26 yrs. in a federal agency in a large building and can count on both hands the no. of times I had to take a shit when there was someone else in the bathroom at the same time.

This is one fucked up, overly anal-retentive country, my friends.
