I was baffled by the old nasty people here until I met my MIL , who never had nice things to say about many people at all. More of a reflection of her than anyone else. Don't kiss their arse. You don't even know them, and they don't care to know you. Their loss, truly.

I can't stand when people walk 4 abreast. Or when they just stop and cluster right in the path oeople walking.

Stop bothering to make eye contact with these assholes. As you say excuse me, keep moving. Match rudeness with rudeness and explain it all to your children as you raise them.

Now that my oldest is 5 I just review rude behaviour all the time with him so he will learn how to cope with rudeness, but not to be innately rude himself (common courtesy stuff like not being loud in public, moving for others without waiting for them to ask, etc). I'll say "mummy should have moved out of the way of those people, but because they spread themselves 4 people wide across the sidewalk, I had nowhere to step but off into the bushes and I didn't want to do that. They should have seen us coming and moved aside, dropping back so their group didn't take up the whole sidewalk ".

I will CRINGE if my kids grow up acting the way I see people act on a daily basis. Yesterday's lecture: AU sorority girls who wouldn't get the hell out of the way or quieten down at Robeks. We reviewed 'inside voice' 'body awareness' 'bad words'.

I don't know what kind of job you had pre-kids, but depending on its Q factor, you might want to say, "I used to ________ but since DC was born, I've been staying home with them."

I hate people who take out my laundry. She was only 10 minutes late, not as she left it there for hours.

I agree, but you can't leave your stuff in the dryer indefinitely and expect people not to move it. I thought 10 minutes was a sufficient grace period, and I even folded the clothes!!

Goodness OP. I live in a condo and can't imagine such nonsense. One thing, we do not have shared laundry. I am in NOVA, maybe it's the big city attitude? I dunno.
