I agree that the approach should have been candidate to candidate and private. Tacky to send a surrogate - disrespectful. But the worst part is the hint of quid pro quo to unseat Cheh. That annoys me a lot, because if it's the right thing it's the right thing, nobody should have to be given favors. And it wasn't the right thing - who knows who is really ahead between the two of them based on one not-that-recent poll.

I think she disclosed them because the word was already out.
I was leaning toward Silverman but in the end had a change of heart and voted for Frumin. It was a tough decision. In the end, I do wish one of them would have dropped out...or that we had instant runoff voting! How can we get that?!
This is what happened in 2011 w/ Orange. I don't want it to happen again.

Totally fine in my book. And I liked her response. (Though she requested the emails be confidential and then she disclosed them.)

Elissa foolishly sent her treasurer to approach Frumin. She does not really understand politics. These things need to be handled by the candidate.

Just read the emails. I am impressed with them.
BTW I got called for that poll and eventually hung up toward the end because I thought it was a Zukerberg poll. Didn't realize it was from a separate group - "the marijuana people" - LOL.
The poll was too long. It was a robocall and it asked too many questions - all about the legalization or decriminalization of drugs. I strongly favor that but even I got a little tired of all the questions. Once they started asking about the city council race, I got annoyed because I thought it was a push poll for Zukerberg (although it did make me consider whether I should just vote for him as a protest vote) and not a real poll. I expected that I would get a call from the Zuckerberg campaign but I didn't. Guess it really was an independent poll?
But I have to say they probably had a lot of hang ups before the question on the council race. I could see people getting tired of being asked about drug policy by a computer.
