I'm neither of those and I didn't know about the NNAT with first DC until test scores came home. I also wasn't reading this board at that time either. DC could read chapter books going into k and do math word problems, so it's not that I'm a lazy parent who isn't involved in my child's education. I really just didn't know. I'm sure a letter probably came home about the test but I really don't remember and if I saw it I probably just thought "a test in the beginning of first grade, big deal." I did know about the CogAT. You really can just miss the stuff about the NNAT if you aren't familiar with the whole AAP system and it's your first child.

What is bolded has little to do with whether you're a lazy parent or not.

It does because I'm the one who took the time to teach him to read etc. But, if it makes you feel better to think I'm lazy, that's ok. I can guarantee you that none of my DC's teachers would consider me a lazy parent. Anyway, I sometimes forget there are people on this board who can't help going over comments just to find something negative to say

But yet, the whole AAP process was so foreign to me that I truly didn't know it existed, nor did I know there were people so mental over getting their child into it.

With my 2nd child? Yes, I know all about it. But we still didn't prep or discuss with her beyond making sure she was rested and in school for the days they were tested.

This is me. Exactly! But we went on to have #3 and #4 and they go to the parish school. Because I didn't want another 5-10 years hearing about AAP!

Our school did NOT give exact dates. Just a week or two timeframe.

+1

That is lumped with you knowing when it was. That is not, as some liars say, you having no idea when it was given.

Your opinion of me is absolutely none of my business.
