It is gross to have to change a 3 year old's poop (for someone who is not a family member), and is not an expected part of a preschool teacher's job. How "hard" something is does not relate to whether it is part of your job. It would not be hard for me to put together PB&Js for everyone in my office, but it isn't going to happen on a regular basis, and my boss couldn't make me.
20-24 sets of diaper changes for 3 year olds 3 times a day is doable but wouldn't you rather your child's preschool teacher be doing something more enriching with students during class (being paid for by your tax dollars)?

Goodness gracious people. OP you have ample time to potty train DC, just start now. We started last April and had enough time. And yes, my 3yo DD does need help wiping poop, luckily she poops at home. If that doesn't happen you need to be ok with skid marks, or don't send your kid to public preschool. That is the reality of DCPS or many charters.
Regardless of whether or not your DC is legally allowed to attend school in pull ups with the need to be changed, you certainly won't be winning over any teachers if you haven't put forth considerable effort in potty training them this summer. They definitely EXPECT the kids to be potty trained, but they also understand that there might be alot of accidents at the beginning of the year while everyone gets used to the environment. If your child is almost there but still has a few accidents, teachers told me a few weeks of group bathroom trips is usually all it takes to get them over the hump.
