2245 said he regained consciousness after onlookers administered CPR then goes on to say she doesn't understand why they didn't resuscitate him right away. Well, that's because they don't resuscitate people who have regained consciousness. So which was it..he regained consciousness or he died. How would any of you know he died?

IF that poster, a casual observer and stranger, affirmed that she was "really really upset" about the care provided by EMTs, then obviously the man's family would most likely be distraught to read her account, however inaccurate, on their loved one's final moments. What's the point in planting these horrific images of suffering in their minds? That poster, and you, are insensitive beyond belief.

I was there while all this was happening and my first instinct was I hope his next of kin is notified. He gained conciousness after being administered CPR by onlookers but I felt the emergency medics didn't do anything other than tear his clothes and be rough with him. I remember clearly seeing his face hit the floor with force when the EM took the bag from under his head. Why didn't they try to resucitate him right there and then. I was really really upset. The lady tried to talk to the EM as she handing his bag to them. Hopefully they were able to find some ID. God bless all those who administered CPR. The rest of us on lookers were just praying that this man was ok. May your Soul Rest in Peace. To the family, I am so sorry for your loss.

It is not offensive. And YES, I would want to know if my loved one was not treated with dignity. I would seek that poster out for more details, sounds like EMTs might have not done enough. Wouldn't YOU want to know that, or do you prefer to bury your head in the sand?

It is a normal human reaction to think about and be bothered by witnessing an event like this. Sure, she feels the need to share her observation and process what she saw. I just disagree that this was the best forum in which to do so, as her words could cause additional pain to those most immediately impacted by the man's passing. His widow, his parents, his siblings, or his children may well find traumatic reading the graphic details (and perhaps mistaken conclusions about the quality of care) she included. A few posters have chimed in. While I didn't elaborate in my earlier post, I know too many surviving spouses who have experienced PTSD after reading witness statements and accident reports that they CHOSE to read. Stumbling upon a post like that could cause his family pain. You have the right to post whatever you wish, but you're not immune from criticism for it.

It IS wonderful that so many stopped to assist this gentleman and are keeping him and his family in their prayers.

Very sad. I work on 19th & E and pass by 19 & K everyday. I wonder if it's someone in my building.

I have been thinking about this man nd his family all day. Did anyone find out who he is (and does he have a wife and kids)? What caused the death? And are we 100% sure he really died?

My only sibling died in a similar situation in his 20s and it has been incredibly traumatizing for me. I hope the family can find peace.
